Artist Statement
Born and raised in New York City, Jacob is jewish with Peruvian and Ashkanazi descendants. The lines resemble a rhythm of calligraphic patterned shapes, continuously and similarly. Jacob says it's never a mess but a rhythm. Jacob uses acrylic marker or pen on rolling paper usually stretched on a wall, reimaged or table sized for all media. Tending to choose the pens rather than the brush to capture small detail. This intuitive practice is something personal. Art for Jacob is to be regarded as an experience. The Artist and the observer both become the subject of the linework. Letting the linework speak for itself is the true destination. Being a visual artist for Jacob is not a man of words, rather nature.
